Navaratri, meaning “nine nights”, is one of the most auspicious and spiritually powerful festivals celebrated across India. It is dedicated to Goddess Amba (Durga), the divine mother who manifests in many forms to protect the universe, bless her devotees, and destroy evil. The festival is observed during the waxing phase of the lunar month after Amavasya (new moon day), when the energy of the feminine is at its peak.
• The first three days are dedicated to Durga, the fierce form of Shakti who grants courage, removes negativity, and destroys obstacles.
• The next three days are for Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, abundance, and prosperity who fulfills material and spiritual desires.
• The last three days are for Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, knowledge, and enlightenment who blesses devotees with clarity, success in education, and liberation.
• The tenth day, Vijayadashami, is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.
